8th Annual Amanda Hichkad CCA Virtual Celebration Walk
"The services provided to me by Cancer LifeNet nourish my mind, body and soul and having these services be free of charge make them accessible to me. Cancer Lifenet provides me with meaningful connections with others who share in the cancer journey and add joy to my life"
- Kristi Sjoholm-Sierchio, Team Captain for the Amanda Hichkad CCA Celebration Walk
Who is this Walk named in memory of?
This event is named after a beloved Bel Air resident, wife, and mother of three, Amanda Hichkad,
who received treatment at the Patricia D. & M. Scot Kaufman Cancer Center at UM Upper Chesapeake Health in Bel Air, Maryland. She was also a utilizer and advocate for Cancer LifeNet and believed in the impact that Cancer LifeNet and its variety of free of charge services can have on someone going through the battle of a cancer diagnosis.
She wanted to ensure that her legacy was creating a way to help fundraise for Cancer LifeNet so that its staff could continue having a tremendous impact on the lives of her friends and neighbors in the Harford and Cecil County, Maryland communities who rely on the services of Cancer LifeNet, just like she did. Thus, the Amanda Hichkad CCA Celebration Walk was born in 2014. All of the proceeds from the Amanda Hichkad CCA Celebration Walk go back to supporting Cancer LifeNet and its nearly 300 unique programs and services that have helped impact the lives of over 15,000 of our friends and neighbors, just like Amanda.
With your help, we will create a movement leading up to and on Walk Day, Saturday, May 15th, 2021, by celebrating and honoring our loved ones who have faced the battle of a cancer diagnosis, while also walking to raise critical funds to help Cancer LifeNet.

Scot Kaufman Cancer Center, a program funded entirely through philanthropic dollars and donations, offers free-of-charge supportive care services to all residents of Harford and Cecil County, Maryland facing the battle of a cancer diagnosis, regardless of where he/she/they are receiving his/her/their cancer treatments.
Offering navigation and support, Cancer LifeNet helps these individuals and their loved ones cope with the physical, financial, psychological and emotional aspects of having cancer.
