Many of you know that my husband, Craig Ward, and I have been very involved with the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation over the past number of years. This year, I am pleased to be the co-captain of a team for the Amanda Hichkad CCA Celebration Walk to benefit Cancer LifeNet. My co-captain is the wonderful Sarah Karantonis.
We formed this team in honor of my good friend, Kitty Pickett. Kitty is a two-time cancer survivor and a founder of the Chesapeake Cancer Alliance. She has worked tirelessly over the past decade (or more) to make a difference in the lives of those in our community who are diagnosed with cancer. We chose the name Team Difference Makers because it is an appropriate reflection of the person Kitty is.
In fewer than 10 years, the Amanda Hichkad CCA Celebration Walk has raised over $860,000.00 which has gone for direct support of our neighbors undergoing cancer treatment. Will you help me honor Kitty Pickett and support our friends and family who are fighting the battle with cancer by joining Team Difference Makers or donating to this amazing cause.
