Our mom passed away last April from double hit lymphoma. Her goal was to be a Team Captain for the annual Amanda Hichkad walk for Cancer LifeNet as it was very important to her. Our mom’s good friend, Jess Harcarik, helped us to form Team Jen last year. It was the first virtual walk and it was amazing to see all the people from all over walking and supporting our mom. We raised $14,586 with 157 participants and 113 donations.
Our mom was so grateful for the services provided from the Cancer LifeNet program. It offers a variety of services free of charge to cancer patients and their families as they go through their journey with cancer. There are support groups that help with physical, financial and emotional needs along with meditation and yoga classes. Our mom really enjoyed yoga. These groups and classes are provided by nurses, social workers and other professionals. Our mom believed strongly in these programs and we ask for your help to continue offering these important services to those in need.
We are hoping to repeat the success of Team Jen and all the teams again this year for the eighth annual walk. We need everyone to participate to meet and hopefully exceed this goal. Cancer LifeNet is such a great service to the person going through cancer and their families. We know how hard it is to watch someone you love battle cancer and we ask for your support with this fundraiser to help others going through the same thing.
