Thanks to the early fundraising efforts, the 8th Annual Amanda Hichkad CCA Celebration Walk has reached it's initial fundraising goal.

As of Monday, May 3rd, 2021, we have raised our sights and stretched our fundraising goal to $150,000 because it's important, it's impactful and together, we can make a difference!

Every gift supports Cancer LifeNet's mission of providing supportive care services to our friends and neighbors facing a cancer diagnosis and their loved ones. The program is funded entirely by philanthropy and costs $1 Million annually to operate.

This is friends and neighbors helping friends and neighbors.

The Amanda Hichkad CCA Virtual Celebration Walk, presented by Klein's ShopRite, will bring our local community together on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 to celebrate, honor and remember friends, family and loved ones who have faced the battle of a cancer diagnosis, while raising funds to support Cancer LifeNet at UM Upper Chesapeake Health's Patricia D. & M. Scot Kaufman Cancer Center.

Named after a beloved Bel Air resident, wife, and mother of three, Amanda Hichkad, this event was started in 2014 to provide a way to fundraise and raise awareness for Cancer LifeNet, so that all residents of Harford and Cecil Counties facing a cancer diagnosis, regardless of where he/she is receiving treatment, could have access to care and services, right in their own community.

Cancer LifeNet provides nearly 300 unique programs and services to individuals battling, or recovering from, a cancer diagnosis, and their loved ones. Some of the many services offered include nurse navigation support, social worker consultations, financial advisement, health and wellness classes, holistic medicine & beauty classes, support groups, the C.L.I.M.B. program for children and so much more.

Best of all: Cancer LifeNet is completely free of charge for any resident of Harford or Cecil County and their loved ones to use. This is made possible entirely through funding from personal philanthropy and donations from our community.

Since the Amanda Hichkad CCA Celebration Walk's inception in 2014, over $800,000 has been raised through this event in support of Cancer LifeNet and allows Cancer LifeNet to provide care to almost 1,700 of our local friends and neighbors in Harford and Cecil County who utilize it every year.

Our Walk community is committed to increasing awareness of Cancer LifeNet, honoring those who have lost their battle, supporting those living with this disease and raising funds to help keep these programs completely free of charge to the individual and their loved ones.
